writing services for PK-6TH
FOR STUDENTS PK-6TH GRADE:
This service is designed for students who find writing challenging or overwhelming. Common difficulties include organizing thoughts, generating ideas, forming complete sentences, spelling, handwriting, and expressing ideas clearly on paper. Many students know what they want to say but struggle to get it down in writing.
Our writing instruction helps students develop the skills and confidence needed to communicate effectively through written language.
INCLUDES:
Instruction begins with observation and informal assessment to understand a student’s writing strengths and areas of need. Lessons are carefully designed to support each child’s developmental level and instructional goals.
Using research-based strategies from The Writing Revolution and structured literacy practices, instruction focuses on building writing skills systematically. Progress is monitored regularly, and instruction is adjusted as students grow. Families receive clear communication about expectations, progress, and next steps.
STUDENTS WORK ON:
Sentence structure and expansion
Paragraph organization and development
Spelling and encoding skills
Grammar and mechanics
Handwriting and written output
Planning, drafting, and revising writing
Expressing ideas clearly and logically
Instruction emphasizes clarity, organization, and confidence rather than length or speed.
