Meet Tammy Rice, M.Ed.
Experience:
Tammy Rice is an experienced learning specialist with over two decades of work supporting elementary-aged students in both independent and school-based settings. She has served as a learning specialist and interventionist for students in PreK through second grade, collaborating closely with classroom teachers, administrators, families, and allied professionals.
Tammy has extensive experience identifying and supporting students with reading difficulties, including dyslexia, as well as challenges related to attention, working memory, and written expression. Her work is grounded in careful observation, diagnostic teaching, and consistent progress monitoring, allowing her to design instruction that meets each child’s specific needs.
Expertise & Specialty:
Tammy is trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach through the Institute for Multisensory Education and specializes in structured literacy intervention rooted in the Science of Reading. She integrates UFLI Foundations, multisensory math practices, and The Writing Revolution to provide comprehensive, research-based instruction across reading, writing, and math.
Her specialty lies in early literacy development, foundational skill gaps, and intensive intervention for struggling learners. Tammy is known for her ability to break complex skills into clear, manageable steps while creating a supportive learning environment where students build confidence alongside competence.
